Sony India introduced the FE 14mm F1.8 GM, a small, large-aperture, ultra-wide-angle lens, to its E-mount lens lineup on Thursday.
The company stated that the camera, which is priced at Rs 162,990, enables users to capture the environment from new perspectives, especially when photographing landscapes, architecture, starry skies, and interiors.
“The FE 14mm F1.8 GM, the new lens in Sony’s G Master series, features exceptional resolution, quick and quiet autofocus, and a remarkably compact design,” Mukesh Srivastava, Digital Imaging Head at Sony India, said in a statement.
“We are always innovating and aiming to provide our customers with technology that meets their needs and helps them to realize their ambitious vision and offer what they want,” Srivastava said.
The latest lens has a lightweight optical shape, measuring only 83mm x 99.8mm and weighing approximately 460g, and is equipped with sophisticated optical technology that provides exceptional clarity and contrast.
Due to the optimum aperture of F1.8, users can make light point sources, enabling them to catch astrophotography or shoot in other low-light conditions without resorting to excessively slow shutter speeds.
When filming in low-light situations, Sony’s patented Nano AR Coating II technology maximizes visibility by suppressing flare and ghosting.
Additionally, the latest lens has many sophisticated and flexible control options, including a focus hold button, a focus mode switch, and a focus ring, the company said. These features help ensure smooth, effective activity in a variety of shooting conditions.
