Assam CM meets the RSS chief in Nagpur. According to BJP sources in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, on Friday at the organization’s headquarters in Nagpur. And also said that Bhagwat had visited his house before election.
“My relation with Bhagwat is a long-standing one. It was still there while I was in the House of Representatives. My younger brother is likewise involved with the ABVP. He paid a visit to my place and ate some meal before the recent elections. He also spoke with my mother and gave books to both of my children,” Sarma told a small group of media after meeting with Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat earlier in the day in this city.
This was Sarma’s first visit to the headquarters of the RSS since taking office as Chief Minister of Assam a month earlier. More than an hour was spent at the RSS headquarters when the former Congressman turned BJP leader met with Bhagwat and other officials.
Following the meeting, Sarma took to Twitter to say: “Reverence is required. I paid a visit to Dr. Hedgewar Smarak Samiti in Nagpur. I consider myself fortunate to have paid my respects to Dr. K.B. Hedgewar, the Sarsanghchalak Parampujyaniya who founded the RSS organization, in his Smriti Mandir. At Sri M.S. Golwalkar’s Smriti China, we also paid our respects to the 2nd Sarsanghchalak Parampujyaniya Sri M.S. Golwalkar, who is the 2nd Sarsanghchalak Parampujyaniya. Humbled!”
