Botanical Garden to be Built-in 3 Months on Fancy Bazar's Former Jail Land

Botanical Garden to be Built-in 3 Months. In three months, a botanical garden will be established on the former prison camps in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said at a meeting on June 5.

The decision to build a botanical garden on 56 hectares of land took place in 2016.

Sarma reviewed the Guwahati Development Department’s (GDD) operations on Saturday, June 5. And in his Janata Bhawan conference room, taking stock of the Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), and the smart city project, among others.

During the meeting, the CM gave numerous further orders and directions. So, which including halting development on the property next to the Brahmaputra river in Guwahati. And also says to expand the city’s parks and open spaces.

Additionally, Guwahati’s street lighting and other smart city initiatives.
