CM Sarma declared that if the COVID controls are continued beyond two weeks, his cabinet would accept a financial plan for the poorer parts.
The Sonowal Cabinet met without delay on Tuesday to address the state’s COVID condition. Following his inauguration, Sarma said that his first goal would be to contain the “alarming” coronavirus condition.
“The ministers would conduct district visits and consult with Deputy Commissioners, Joint Directors of Health, and other senior officers in order to send a report to the Chief Minister and Health Minister within three days of their visit,” spokespersons Keshab Mahanta and Pijush Hazarika said after the Cabinet meeting.
On May 11, Assam registered 6,258 new COVID positive incidents, bringing the total to 3,04,429 cases. According to the National Health Mission’s most recent bulletin, 127 million people have died as a result of coronavirus, bringing the total to 1,838.
Assam currently has 37,500 COVID instances. With the addition of 4,409 people who recovered from the illness, the total number of recoveries rose to 2,61,980.
Assam now has a COVID recovery rate of 86.06 percent and a mortality rate of 0.60 percent.
