If Anganwadi personnel is not vaccinated, they will not be paid on a monthly basis: Assam’s chief minister. On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered district officials to withhold monthly pay. From Anganwadi employees who do not get the Covid vaccination injection.

He also ordered the DCs to maintain strict adherence to social distancing rules at vaccination camps. In order to halt the spread of Covid-19, in addition to ensuring that all frontline workers are fully getting the vaccine.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has created the idea of a ‘guardian minister’. And a ‘guardian secretary’ in order to reinvigorate the districts’ development narrative.

Sarma further said that the guardian ministers and guardian secretaries would make frequent visits to their respective districts. And ordered the DCs to establish camp offices for them to assist the smooth operation of their duties.

The Chief Minister lauded district health officials and district administrations for their contributions to the mammoth vaccination camps’ success.

Sarma began implementing the guardian ministers system after taking over as Assam’s 15th Chief Minister on May 10. By assigning each of the 13 ministers two to three districts for oversight of all elements, including policy choices and programs.
