Ripun Bora, a Rajya Sabha member, and Congress politician tested positive for COVID-19. On Friday night, he was admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
While Ripun Bora confirmed the news, he also advised people who had touched with him in the previous several days to be checked.
“I am now receiving treatment at Gauhati Medical College Hospital after testing positive for Covid19. I’m requesting that everyone who has come into touch with me in the previous several days is tested,” Bora stated on his Facebook page.
Bora’s health has been prayed for by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

The Assam chapter of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) has also wished the Assam Congress president a fast recovery.
