The New CMD of ONGC may appoint by June 4

The New CMD of ONGC: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). So, The country’s biggest public oil and gas exploration company will appoint a new full-time chairman and managing director (CMD) this week.

According to government sources, the (Public Enterprise Selection Board) PESB will appoint the next head of ONGC. This Friday, June 4.

Subhash Kumar, director for finance and senior-most director on the ONGC board, has been assigned additional responsibility as CMD. ONGC, So, on from April.

PESB has selected ten candidates to lead the oil and gas giant. Which including two Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officials from the 1994 batch, Avinash Joshi and Niraj Verma. Both are now Assam’s principal secretaries.

The ONGC appointment process is a delay. Because of a chairperson for the selection board PESB until April of this year. As the job position was with Mallika Srinivasan, the chairman and managing director of Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Ltd.

In normal times, the process of selecting the head of a PSU starts well in advance of the retiring CMD’s retirement. So, that to ensure continuity in the company’s succession plan.
