As HIV and hepatitis, Covid cannot be transmitted from mother to child

Covid can’t transmit from mother to child, like HIV and hepatitis. The government confirmed that around 250 nCoV positive women had given birth to healthy babies in Tripura. Since HIV and hepatitis are non-transmissible viruses, Covid-19 has no way of infecting newborns. Even if the mother was found to be infected with these deadly viruses, according to experts and medical professionals.

Dr. Tapan Majumder, head of the Microbiology department at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC). Mentioned that the Covid-19 is very positive news because there has not been any reported instance in India where the disease caused by the coronavirus has infected a pregnant woman and passed to her child via the placenta or birth canal.

It is not feasible for congenital or vertical infection with coronavirus to take place. Since there is no way for the virus to go from the mother to the fetus in the womb.

In the study done by Majumder, there was some data that suggests that the mother might give the newborn child a health risk like HIV and/or hepatitis.

According to our data, from the beginning of last year to the present day, over 250 pregnant women in possession of Covid-19 have given birth to healthy infants at the AGMC in India’s northern state of Tripura.

Covid can’t transmit from mother to child, like HIV and hepatitis.

Approximately 214 women who tested positive for Covid-19 got pregnant and gave birth to healthy children during the first wave. Approximately 35 women who tested positive for Covid-19 gave birth to healthy, normal children during the second wave. According to Jayanta Ray, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at AGMC, extra surgical operations were performed during Caesarean delivery.

Prior to acceptance, all pregnant women are required to have a test for the presence of CMV (Covid testing). If someone is discovered to have the condition, he or she is obligated to follow the health routine.

Ladies who have just given birth should also exercise caution, since close family members and relatives of the newborns, as well as worried women, should be worried.” I believe that Gynaecologists should keep the distance between a child and its mother to a minimum,” stated Ray, an eminent Gynaecologist.

Health officials in various northeastern states said that in the initial wave, children under the age of 15 were not tested for Covid-19, but this pattern has changed in the new wave, with younger children also being tested for Covid-19 in Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Assam. The states of these regions now have to prepare paediatric panels.

This comes from data from two orphanage homes in Tripura that looked at 31 girls between the ages of 7 and 10 and eight carers whom all tested positive for the virus. About two-thirds of them are now completely healthy.

Diverse is the type and severity of the second wave of Covid-19, and Dr Pradip Bhowmik, a physician, has advised that research groups should be formed to undergo in-depth research of the condition.

The incidence of the conditions linked to the post-Covid period has been seen in the second wave of patients. In particular, during the post-Covid phase. There has been an increasing number of patients who have contracted pneumonia and have developed black fungus.

This coronavirus is different from the previous wave of infections. More young individuals and children are becoming affected in this wave than in the previous wave. With a slower recovery and a greater mortality rate, the mortality rate was much greater in the second-wave, said Bhowmik.

He went on to say that the observations show that the strain of the virus found in India. So, it is more hazardous than the ones seen in the UK and Brazil.

Bhowmik, a specialist in Hepatitis illness and a physician who has done extensive research on the illness in the northeastern states and Bangladesh, says that tribals’ immunity is usually better. But they are now falling victim to Covid-19, requiring a research study that may solve the problem.

Around 29% of the population of the eight northeastern states is tribal. Aamong which the main tribes are the Bagoba, the Angamis, and the Narsingas.
