Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, and director Amar Kaushik have turned to social media to voice their outrage at YouTuber Paras Singh’s alleged arrest for making racist statements towards Arunachal Pradesh legislator Ninong Ering.
Additionally, according to reports, the YouTuber said in his video that the state “was a part of China.”
Amar Kaushik, a filmmaker, went to Instagram Story to respond to a news story alleging that a YouTuber racially attacked the Arunachal Pradesh MLA, referring to him as a non-Indian.
In response, the “Stree” director wrote: “Being uneducated about one’s own nation and area is silly in and of itself, but when that stupidity is presented in a disrespectful way, it becomes poison. We all need to speak up and reject such stupidity in unison, and convince all fools that it is no longer acceptable.”
Rajkummar Rao, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, and Abhishek Banerjee all expressed their dissatisfaction with Amar Kaushik’s Instagram tale.
“Not acceptable, I agree @amarkaushik,” Rajkummar replied.
Varun Dhawan, who recently filmed in Arunachal Pradesh alongside Kriti Sanon and Abhishek Banerjee for the Amar Kaushik-directed forthcoming film “Bhediya,” shared: “Having spent so much time in Arunachal Pradesh, it is past time we educate ourselves and others on how wrong this is.”
“What is wrong with people! It is past time we treated each person and area of our nation equally. Thank you for raising this @amarkaushik,” Kriti said on Instagram Story.
“Totally unacceptable,” Abhishek Banerjee said.
