Qualcomm Debuts Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G Mobile Platform at Mobile World Congress. Qualcomm Technologies unveiled on Monday the Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G Mobile Platform. A successor to the Snapdragon 888 flagship, for the 2021 Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The firm stated in a statement that these two platforms power more than 130 announced or in-development concepts.

Snapdragon 888 Plus powers flagship experiences with intelligent entertainment, such as AI-assisted gaming, streaming. And photography – all supported by increased performance, unmatched speed, and premium connection.

The platform leverages the entire complement of Snapdragon Elite Gaming capabilities. Including ultra-smooth responsiveness, color-rich HDR visuals, and mobile-first desktop-level performance.

In comparison to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888 Plus has a faster Qualcomm Kryo 680 CPU Prime core clock speed of up to 3.0 GHz. And a sixth-generation Qualcomm AI Engine with up to 32 TOPS AI performance, a more than 20% boost.

Additionally, the firm extended its range of 5G RAN Platforms with the inclusion of the Qualcomm 5G DU X100 Accelerator Card.

Qualcomm’s 5G DU X100 is intended to allow operators and infrastructure suppliers to quickly enjoy the advantages of 5G’s high performance, low latency, and energy efficiency, while also speeding the cellular ecosystem’s move to virtualized radio access networks.
