Snapchat, the famous social networking website, has surpassed 500 million monthly active users, with about 40% of its audience residing outside of North America and Europe.
In India, Snapchat has grown daily active users (DAUs) by more than 100% year over year in each of the last five years, the business reported late Thursday during its third Snap Partner Summit.
Snap has unveiled new additions, enhancements, and augmented reality (AR) experiences, including new AR apps and camera experiences, the next version of Spectacles, and the introduction of ‘Story Studio,’ a new independent app that gives developers on mobile powerful editing tools.
“The Story Studio, which was created specifically for Creators, would provide details on current Snapchat use patterns. Later this year, it will be available for download on iOS.” The organization mentioned this in a tweet.
Additionally, Snap introduced the Creator Marketplace, a platform for brands to discover and message authenticated artists, beginning with top AR Lens Creators and expanding to include Snap Stars and Creators on Spotlight in the future.
“Subscribers will also communicate with official Snap Stars by submitting Gifts. Snap Stars have compensated a portion of the revenue generated by Gifts, which are collected through Story Replies and bought with Snapchat Tokens “the organization was notified.
On the internet, “Spotlight” is a new destination where developers can post video straight from Chrome or Safari, and everyone, including those without a Snapchat account, can see the best of what’s happening.
Snap introduced the latest version of Spectacles, the company’s first set of virtual reality lenses.
Spectacles, which are not for sale and are created exclusively for artists, empower augmented reality creators to explore different ways to combine innovation and usability by interactive environments developed in Lens Studio.
“Spectacles blend together with Lens Studio. This robust desktop framework is intended for designers and producers of augmented reality content. It is used to create and deliver Lenses through Snap’s AR network “According to the organization.
The scan is used by over 170 million Snapchatters per month, and Snapchat is now introducing Scan to the home camera screen.
“Scan correlates what you see from the monitor with contextually specific augmented reality interactions,” Snap said.
With over 200 million Snapchatters using augmented reality on a regular basis, Snap has added a fresh round of technologically sophisticated and fashion-forward features that enhance the realism, accuracy, and ease of usage of virtual shopping and ‘try-on’ experiences.
“For the first time ever, friends will communicate with one another through Lenses, whether they’re across the room or halfway around the globe,” Snap continued.
