Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy honored Mahatma Gandhi on his 154th birth anniversary on October 2. In a solemn ceremony held in Vijayawada, Mr. Reddy expressed his admiration for the Father of the Nation and highlighted the government’s efforts to further Gandhi’s vision of Grama Swaraj.

Since taking office in 2019, the YSRCP Government has made significant strides towards the welfare of the people. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, with Gandhi as his inspiration, stated that the government has successfully realized Gandhi’s dream of Grama Swaraj through the introduction of the Village/Ward Secretariat system. This system aims to decentralize power and ensure efficient delivery of government services to the grassroots level. On the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the former Prime Minister and freedom fighter, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy paid homage to his remarkable contributions. He recalled Shastri’s iconic call, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” which continues to resonate even today. This slogan embodies the inseparable link between the soldiers who protect the nation and the farmers who feed it.
