Manchester, UK – Manchester United’s star winger Jadon Sancho’s future with the club is uncertain following a public dispute with manager Erik ten Hag. The 23-year-old expressed his frustration after Ten Hag attributed his absence from recent matches to poor training performances.
Sancho, who referred to himself as a “scapegoat,” was notably absent from Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal over the weekend, which resulted in a 3-1 defeat for the team.
Having played as a substitute in the first three matches of the season, Sancho’s absence raised eyebrows, especially given Ten Hag’s explanation that he was not selected due to subpar training performances.

In response to Ten Hag’s remarks, Sancho took to social media to address the situation. He posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that are completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week.”
Sancho continued, “I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”
Expressing his commitment to the team, Sancho added, “All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”
Sancho’s tenure at Manchester United has been marked by inconsistent performances since his move from Borussia Dortmund for a hefty fee in 2021. With 12 goals in 82 appearances across all competitions, the young talent has faced challenges in finding his stride on the pitch.
